The first loss of the season came at the worst time for Joël Ayayi and his Gonzaga team.

After 31 straight wins, the French and the Bulldogs lost in the NCAA final on the night of Monday to Tuesday against Baylor (86-70).

At 21, the Bordelais will not be the second French to win the American university championship after Joakim Noah, in 2006 and 2007.

In this final, he scored eight points, took two rebounds and delivered an assist in 31 minutes.

A mixed performance in the image of his team which completely missed out on his match.

In the semifinals, the little brother of Valériane Ayayi Vukosavljević, player of the French basketball team, had the best offensive performance of her season (22 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals).

Soon in the NBA?

Despite this defeat in the final, Joël Ayayi completed the best season of his career with Gonzaga: 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2.7 average assists per game.

The Girondin now hopes to be drafted as high as possible and take his first steps in the NBA.
