China News Service, April 6th. On the 5th local time, IOC President Bach congratulated Chie Rikako, who qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.

He said: "Olympic athletes never give up. Congratulations to Chijiang Rikako for qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics only two years after being diagnosed with leukemia. I can't wait to see you in Tokyo."

At the Japan Swimming Championships on April 4, the famous Japanese swimmer Ike Rikako won the championship with 57.77 seconds.

Although this result failed to meet the standards of the Tokyo Olympics individual events, it met the selection criteria of 57.92 seconds for the shortlisted women's 4x100m medley relay event.

This means that Chijiang Rikako will appear at the Tokyo Olympic Games this summer.

Chijiang Lihuazi was diagnosed with leukemia in 2019, and then bid farewell to the swimming world.

After 10 months of treatment, Chijiang Lihuazi was discharged smoothly.

In August last year, Chi Jiang officially came back. She participated in the Tokyo Special Tournament. In the 50-meter freestyle, she won the group first.

In February of this year, she won the first championship after her comeback with a time of 25.77 in the 50-meter butterfly at the Tokyo Metropolitan Open.

Now qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics, Chie Rikako said: “I can’t use words to describe how happy I am. At that moment, I recalled everything I experienced before arriving here. I was shocked and couldn’t think about it for a while. It is estimated that it will take a while for me to slowly accept this result."

She continued: "Compared with the Olympic trials (Rio) five years ago, I am not so confident. I feel that the chance of winning is very small, but I still put in the necessary efforts. So no matter how unconfident you are or how things are. Difficult, as long as you work hard, you will be rewarded. Later in the game I thought,'I'm back, I belong here'."

In the 2016 Rio Olympics, Chi Jiang participated in a total of 7 competitions, and his best result was the fifth place in the 100-meter butterfly.

Since her official comeback last year, she has repeatedly stated that her goal is to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

But now this goal has obviously changed.

In a few months, she will attack the Olympic gold medal in her hometown.
