The player of the national team, Salama Al-Khatiri, confirmed that the existence of a badminton tournament, similar to the rest of the special sports for people of determination, enhances the fortunes of the country's players when participating in the International Fazza Championships, which Dubai hosts annually. Last Sunday, it was named "Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International" and witnessed the participation of 127 players representing the teams of 29 countries.

Al-Khatri told Emirates Today that “the presence of a badminton tournament gives the country's players more technical skills, and raises their levels before returning and participating in (Fazza International) tournaments, and confronting the world's top ranked players who are keen to come to Dubai, and participate. In its championship, which is held under the umbrella of the International Federation of Game, and to benefit from the classification points awarded by this tournament and qualify for the Olympic Games ».

She explained: “Establishing a special badminton league, similar to wheelchair basket, football and other games, ensures that state players remain in a competitive state that contributes to refining their skills, and is not satisfied with periodic training or insufficient camps to give players the skills required to compete with the top ranked and world classifiers. Thus, the Emirati ambitions are limited to overcoming the hurdle of the Groups League.

She added: “The limitation of the participation of the country's players in competitive matches to the international tournaments hosted by the state, whether (International Fazza) or other tournaments, makes the process of developing technical skills proceeding very slowly, even though the levels presented by the state's players in the current version are better compared to copies. However, our ambitions are still limited to overcoming the hurdle of the Groups League.

And she went on to say: “I faced in the group league with players from the top 10 ranked players, and the results were logical even though they are the best in my career, especially since I started my career with a loss to the first seed in the Netherlands, Sophie van den Burke, with two groups without response 21-9 and 21-6, and I followed A strong confrontation with the world number three, French Faustin Noel, who ended in favor of her 21-4 and 21-7, in addition to my loss to the world number 10, Danish Helen Saguy, 21-2 and 21-0, who topped the group with the full score.

She concluded: “The great support that people of determination enjoy in the country, and the global leadership in organizing and hosting major tournaments, achieve great benefits, which has always been confirmed by Emirati people of determination who write honorable results in games such as archery and athletics, which is the same thing that drives us in Badminton to make more effort to pay back the debt to the generous state ».
