Saudi Arabia broadcasts the matches of the AFC championships locally

The AFC announced today, Monday, the signing of an exclusive rights agreement with the "Saudi Sports Company", to obtain media rights for the Confederation of Confederation competitions in Saudi Arabia between 2021 and 2024.

The Confederation explained that according to this agreement, the company obtained exclusive rights "to broadcast the main national teams and clubs in the AFC, including the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the AFC Asian Cup 2023 as well as the AFC Champions League."

It is noteworthy that the Saudi Sports Company was established in mid-2020, and it is affiliated with the Ministry of Sports, specializing in the field of sports media, with the aim of developing television production of sports content and obtaining satellite broadcasting rights for international sporting events.

"We are grateful to the Saudi Sports Company, which gave us confidence and decided to invest in Asian football, and we look forward to working with it to achieve further development to raise interest in our world-class competitions," AFC Secretary General Dato 'Windsor John said.

The Confederation stated that the company will display all its competitions “initially through its high-tech and high-tech GSA online broadcast platform, before displaying the matches via satellite channels in the last quarter of 2021, as more details will be announced in later".
