It was in Sunday's La Liga meeting between Cadiz and Valencia that the tumult took place.

Cala and Diakhaby smoked together and the quarrel eventually led to all Valencia players choosing to leave the pitch.

According to the club, Diakhaby had been subjected to a racist insult by Cala.

The match was resumed later, but without Diakhaby wanting to be replaced - but at the same time, according to Valencia, the teammates asked to continue playing because the team otherwise risked a points deduction.

"Do not hide me"

The day after the incident, Cala announces that he will give his view on what happened during a press conference on Tuesday, Reuters reports with reference to the Spanish site Gol.

- I'm not going to hide.

It seems that the assumption that you are innocent to the contrary is proven does not apply in this country, says Cala.

Cala continued to play after the break but was replaced at half time.

After the match, coach Álvaro Cervera said that Cala denied that he had insulted Diakhaby.

- Juan Cala has told me that he has never insulted the Valencia player.

I believe in my player, said Cervera.

Condemns

Cadiz has published a statement on its website stating, among other things, that the club opposes racism and xenophobia "regardless of who the perpetrator is" and "anyone who commits these acts should be paid for them, even if they play for our team".

Neither La Liga nor the Spanish Football Federation have announced whether Cala will be investigated or not.

In a statement, the league wrote that it condemned racism in all its forms and that “we take all allegations of racism seriously and we will work with clubs and referees to do what is necessary to protect the values of equality and respect that prevail in our Spanish football league ”.
