Some bandy ice has been washed away since Andreas Bergwall won his first of seven World Cup golds, in 1997. He also has five Swedish Championship golds, the most recent with Västerås in 2016.

Two years later, he moved to the newly invested AIK and now goes for his sixth Swedish Championship gold.

AIK won its last Swedish Championship gold in bandy on the men's side in 1931, that is, even before Bergwall was born.

- Of course I take care of the body.

Until this year, I did a 16-week training program in the pre-season, says Andreas Bergwall.

Has it been worth it?

- Every second I would say.

AIK opposite to Villa

AIK has some other stars as well, which is lucky because the legendary goalkeeper never scores.

Solnaklubben has only one elite team and is an opposite pole to the final opponent Villa, who nurtures lots of their own talents and has already won the ladies' Swedish Championship gold.

AIK has also recruited from Villa, with Johan Esplund in the lead, so there is some spice in the Swedish Championship brew before the final.

- We know that those who hold AIK, they hold AIK.

And the others are at Villa, says Andreas Bergwall.

And the others, are they more do you think?

- It's probably the rest of bandy Sweden.

I do not hide under a chair with it, but we know about it.
