There is something special about Canada and sports on ice.

But their curlers have a big problem - a problem called team Edin.

- The Canadians are tired of losing to team Edin, says Devin Heroux, journalist at CBC Sports.

The men's world curling is basically about Canada against Karlstad.

Since 2010, only different Canadian teams, as well as team Edin have become world champions, except for a Norwegian gold in 2014.

Team Edin has won four World Cup golds, of which the last two in a row, and is now looking for a historic third World Cup gold in a row.

- We have a mental advantage because we are almost always in the final.

The other teams know that they need to overperform to beat us, says the Swedish skipper Niklas Edin to SVT Sport.

- If we only play our game, we know that it will go a long way.

Then the opponents do not matter, says teammate Rasmus Wranå.

World Cup without media and audience

Last year's World Cup was canceled, and now - after three corona tests and a couple of days of hotel quarantine - team Edin will go on a gold hunt in an icy quiet and empty environment, without both media and audience.

In addition, with a relatively unwritten form after a strange sports year.

Team Edin has won gold or silver in six of the last seven world championships.

Three of the four World Cup golds have been won in the lion's ball, in Canada.

- There is some pressure on us because we have the chance to take three World Cup golds in a row, and we may never get the chance to do that again, says Niklas Edin.

- I think it will be Canada against Sweden in the final, and Canada's team Bottcher has a lot of pressure on them.

If Edins wins again, the people of Canada may not like them as much as before, says Devin Heroux with a laugh.
