It was an anxious Brynäs against a seemingly uninspired Färjestad.

It sums up the first period and a match that lacked confidence.

The second period, however, offered more speed and above all it was Brynäs who created chances.

First, the puck danced the hill Färjestad's goalkeeper Arvid Holm, but the Färjestad players had time to clear at the last minute.

Short-term joy in Gävle

But the goal would come for Brynäs.

In the next wave of attacks, there was good traffic in front of the box and Simon Bertilsson whipped in a redemptive 1-0 for the home team.

But the joy was short in Gästrikland.

Färjestad's Pontus Widerström took off from the extended finish line and pulled towards goal.

Many probably expected a side pass from the bad angle but instead he chose and lifted a backhand just above Viktor Andrén's right shoulder.

Nightmare introduction in the third

In the third period, there was hope for Gävlelaget but the nightmare became a direct reality after only 33 seconds.

From an angle at least as bad as the equalizer, Färjestads forward Jacob Peterson would wall in the puck via Brynäs goalkeeper Andrén.

The desperation was lacking at Brynäs and instead it was frustration that led to Simon Bertilsson taking both his second and third expulsions.

In numerical superiority, the guests from Karlstad took the opportunity to put the nail in the coffin through Victor Ejdsell.

Negative qualifiers await against HV71

Brynäs is thus ready for a negative qualifier against HV71 about which team may leave the series.

A classic team that has not been around in the qualifying series since 2008 and that has not gone out of the country's highest series since 1956.

The qualifying game starts on Tuesday, before Brynäs will face Oskarshamn on Saturday.
