  According to Huang Hui, director of the Urban Stadium Construction Division of the Beijing Major Projects Office, the National Aquatics Center has completed ice-making in December 2020 in accordance with the requirements of individual international organizations and the curling competition standards of the Winter Olympics.

The four venues, the National Speed ​​Skating Stadium, the Capital Stadium, the National Stadium and the Wukesong Sports Center, all melted the ice in the previous test and conducted a second ice making in accordance with the Winter Olympics competition standards.

  The overall ice-making work of each venue was started in mid-to-late March and will be completed by the end of March.

In accordance with the competition standards of the Winter Olympics, through testing activities, the venue's lighting, sound reinforcement, temperature and humidity, and competition venue craftsmanship will be inspected in an all-round way, and the venue's functional facilities will be further improved to ensure that it meets the requirements of the competition.

  Both the National Speed ​​Skating Stadium and the Capital Gymnasium adopt the most advanced and environmentally friendly carbon dioxide refrigeration technology, with carbon emissions approaching zero, and strive to create the "fastest ice" and "the most beautiful ice".

  Among them, the ice-making work of the National Speed ​​Skating Stadium began on March 20. After close cooperation between the foreign and Chinese ice-making teams, the temperature of the structural ice plate was first reduced to -5°C, and then the bottom ice was poured, sprayed with ice paint, and sealed. Ice, ice surface marking, watering and ice coating, and other processes, completed the ice-making work of this test activity on March 31.
