In the video, a verdict is unconscious and puts the African Union in severe embarrassment during the meeting of Ethiopia and the Ivory Coast

A rare case caused great embarrassment to the Confederation of African Football during the match between Ethiopia and the Ivory Coast yesterday, as part of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Football to be held in Cameroon next year.

This match witnessed a sudden fainting state of the match referee, Ghanaian Charles Paul, ten minutes before the end of the match, which caused it to be suspended for a long time.

And because the regulations require that the fourth referee complete the match in the event that something emergency happens to the official referee, it has become evident that the fourth referee is a citizen of Ivory Coast, and he cannot lead a match for one of the parties whose national team is, as it is being held on Ivory Coast.

In a press statement, the African Union stated that the referee suffered from fatigue, as he was transferred directly to the hospital for treatment, while the match coordinator, and given the impossibility of the fourth referee managing him, announced that it had ended with a score of 3-1 for Ivory Coast.

The interesting thing is that this result did not prevent Ethiopia from officially qualifying for the finals, accompanied by Ivory Coast, taking advantage of the draw of Madagascar and Niger in Group 11, to qualify the Ivory Coast to the top and Ethiopia in the runner-up.
