Villa Lidköping are ready for the club's third straight Swedish Championship final, the seventh in total.

Great hero was Jesper Eriksson who with five minutes left of regular time thundered in the final result 2-1 against Sandviken.

Earlier in the first half of the match, it was SAIK who lined up corners (eight) but without receiving a dividend.

Instead, it was Villa who took the lead after 20 minutes of play.

Erik Säfström came in from the left and got a finish that did not look unreachable.

Penalty for equalization

In the second half, Sandviken gave it an honest chance to find a draw and it would come.

Team captain Daniel Berlin was pulled down in the penalty area and Hannes Edlund stepped forward and equalized.

The match seemed to go for a long time to a thrilling extension, but with five minutes left of regular time, the decision came.

Jesper Eriksson got the shot and took it.

He got off to a hard and unreachable end until a new lead for the guests.

"You are disappointed"

This time they kept their lead all the way and now the Swedish Championship final against AIK awaits on Saturday which SVT broadcasts.

- You are disappointed now but we make a good much better match than we did last time.

But unfortunately, it is coincidences that decide and it is sour now.

But that is just to congratulate Villa, says Sandviken's team captain, Daniel Berlin, to Sportbladet.

All the happier in the Villa camp.

- It is a really good team and they are worth being there.

There is always something happening around AIK so it will be fun.

I am an old Bajare so I do not want AIK to win gold, I want to beat them, says match winner Jesper Eriksson to Sportbladet.

Can be double gold

In the final, Eriksson hopes that Villa's men can do what Villa's ladies did last week: Win gold.

- We can be sharper on the opponents' half of the field.

We have been a bit small there, but I will not reveal why.

It could be a calm final.

The ladies offered a fun one and then we hope to be able to do the same, Eriksson continues.

SVT broadcasts the bandy final on Saturday with broadcasting starting at 16.05 on SVT2 and on SVT Play.
