Leksand took the eighth straight victory when they defeated Malmö 3-1 on Monday night.

The Finn Otto Paajanen started the shooting after only two minutes of play.

Malmö defender Adam Ollas Mattsson equalized with a real shot from his back position until his first goal of the season, before the Slovak Marek Hrivik completely on his own gave the valley team the lead again.

Points league leader

Hrivik got the puck in the middle zone, advanced over offensive blue past passive opposing slopes and then found a gap on goalkeeper Oscar Alsenfelt at the far post.

The goal from Hrivik means that the Slovak leads SHL's scoring of 51 points (18 + 32).

The closest that can threaten him is Växjö Lakers Emil Pettersson (46 points) who has three games left to play in the regular season.

Ready for the CHL

After this, it was Leksand's young forwards in Emil Heineman, 19 and Nils Åman, 21, who scored Leksand's remaining goals in the match.

At the same time as Leksand won, they got help from Färjestad who defeated Skellefteå after extra time, which meant that the Masers won the battle for third place.

A position that means that Leksand will play in the Champions Hockey League next season.
