In one of the fencing events, Foil, men's Takahiro Shikine, women's Yuka Ueno, and Sera Azuma have confirmed that they will be represented in Japan at the Tokyo Olympics.

Fencing Foil has finished its last international competition in Qatar on the 28th to compete for the Tokyo Olympics.

In the tournament, individual men's and women's competitions were held, and in the men's team, Shikine lost to an American player 11 to 15 in the final, but finished second.

As a result, Shikine was ranked 12th in the personal ranking for participation in the Olympic Games, which was updated by the League of Nations after the Games.

Japan has missed the right to participate in the Olympic Games in the men's team competition, and Shikine is in the top two in the Asia / Oceania region in the individual ranking except for the players from the countries and regions that have the right to participate in the team competition. Therefore, I satisfied the right to participate in the Tokyo Olympics in the individual competition and secured the Japanese national team.

On the other hand, girls have already qualified for team competitions, and two of the three individual competition slots given to the participating countries will be assigned to the top two in the individual ranking.

As a result, 7th place Ueno and 10th place Higashi have secured the Japanese national team.

At this tournament, all the selection tournaments for the Tokyo Olympics in fencing have ended, and in Japan, women's foils have won the participation slots for team competitions, and women's foils have also won three slots for individual competitions.

In addition, a total of 5 slots for men and women have won 5 slots in individual competitions.

On the other hand, Japan has eight host country slots, and you can select additional representative players for each event and participate in both team and individual competitions.

Next month, the Federation of Japan Fencing will select representative members including the host country frame and officially announce them.
