The organizing committee for the eighth edition of the "Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament", to be held during the blessed month of Ramadan, has approved the cycling competition program that takes place over three days during the period from April 22 to April 24, in accordance with the precautionary measures and protocols for approved competitions.

Registration to participate in all categories of the cycling race continues until April 10, or when the number of entries in each category has been completed.

Registration is done through the official website of the Dubai Sports Council www.dubaisc.ae or the Nad Al Sheba sports tournament official website www.nasst.ae.

A statement issued by the organizing committee said that the cycling championship competitions will include five categories in which all amateurs and professionals, both citizens and residents, are allowed to participate, which is the open category for men and the open category for women, in which both the players and players of clubs and national teams who participate in official races inside and outside the country of citizens and residents can participate. And the category of amateurs, citizens only, and the category of amateurs for female citizens only, and the race includes the category of people of determination from among citizens and residents who are allowed to participate in road bikes for people of determination and hand bikes in which only hands are used.

The statement added: "The men's open race will be held on Thursday, April 22nd, provided that the open race for women, the Emirati amateur category and the People of Determination category will be held on the next day, while the amateur race for citizens will be held on Saturday April 24."

Participants in the cycling race over a distance of 75 km compete to win prizes worth 360,000 dirhams. The first place winner in the open category for men and women gets a prize of 18,000 dirhams, the second-place winner gets a prize of 12 thousand dirhams, and the third place gets 9,600 dirhams. , And the winners from fourth to ninth place are 3,600 each.

In the category of amateurs for male and female citizens, the first place holder gets 26400 dirhams, the second 20400, the third 14400 dirhams, and from the fourth to the ninth place 4800 dirhams, and in the category of people of determination road bikes and hand bikes, the first place holder gets a prize of 12 thousand dirhams, The second at 9,600 dirhams, and the third at 7,200 dirhams.

Physical spacing will be applied between the participants according to precautionary measures, as all participants must perform a corona examination (PCR) 72 hours before the date of the race, provided that they provide evidence of a negative result upon receiving the chest numbers and the electronic chip of the race.

Terms of participation of riders

The organizers revealed the conditions for cyclists' participation in the Nad Al Sheba Championship, as the races will be organized according to the regulations in force in the Emirates Cycling Federation, and it will not be allowed to use TT-handlebars and MTB mountain bikes or use anti-clock racing bikes.

The organizing committee also stressed the exclusion of any cyclist contrary to this.

The participant must be at least 18 years old or over at the time of the race, and participation will only be available individually.

Cycling competitions have continued to be present in the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament since the first edition, as it has witnessed continuous growth over the past seven years, whether at the level of categories or the number of participants.

This year, the session witnesses competitions in three sports: Al-Baddel tennis, cycling and running, each of which includes several categories in which registration is available to all citizens, residents, and local and international players.
