HV71 earlier this week was completely ready for negative qualifiers to stay in the SHL.

This after a 6-0 loss against Leksand.

A match that was then followed up by losing to Oskarshamn 7-0.

On Saturday at home against Luleå, it started hard again for an HV team with, to say the least, damaged self-confidence.

Double numerical superiority for the guests paid dividends twice.

In the second period, however, HV71 came out better than in the first.

Arttu Ilomäki showed that even the Jönköping team can score in powerplay and a few minutes later Axel Holmström did the same when he equalized in game five against four.

"It is unacceptable"

But just when HV71 got back into the match goal-oriented, Jordan Murray handed out a late tackle.

The Canadian defender had to leave with a match penalty and in the five-minute numerical superiority came Luleå's new lead goal.

- It's unacceptable.

It is a "late hit" and he puts the whole team in a difficult situation.

He has heard that and will hear more that you can not do that, said HV coach, Stephan Lund, to C More after the match.

Nils Lundkvist had assist points on the first two goals.

In the decision, it was he himself who stepped forward and netted.

The 20-year-old back talent got the puck in its position at the blue line and pushed to - up in the first cross.

Forward Jack Connolly also stepped down with three points, all assists.

Luleå new five

In the closing period, HV71 pressed to get a draw.

Anton Wedin had the best chance in the closing seconds but managed to score the Luleå goalkeeper, Joel Lassinantti on a half open goal.

Luleå is in the table with the victory over Örebro and is a new fifth in the SHL.
