The Russians took the first three places: Anna Shcherbakova became the world champion, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva won silver, and Alexandra Trusova won bronze, and thus retained the maximum quota of three places at the Olympics.

To maintain the maximum quota, the sum of places of the two best Russian women at the end of the world championship had to be equal to or less than 13.

Earlier it was reported that Russian figure skaters for the first time in history took the entire podium at the World Figure Skating Championships.
