Mikael Ymer has had a good start to the season.

Last month, he advanced to the third round of the Australian Open Grand Slam tournament, where sixth-seeded Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas became too difficult.

Long match

Tonight came a new success, where the 95-ranked Swede beat the Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili in a dramatic three-seater.

Ymer won 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in a match that took over two hours and Ymer broke up to 5-4 and then secured the victory in his own serve.

Thus, Ymer is for the first time in the third round of a tournament of the Masters class, which is the highest ranked tournament class on the ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam tournaments.

In the next round, he will face either Emil Ruusuvuori or world number seven Alexander Zverev.
