Tuur Dierckx was once considered a great talent in Belgian football.

He made 32 international matches for the U-national team, but the very big career was denied him.

He is now 25 years old and has a contract with KVC Westerlo.

Now he made a name for himself.

Not on the soccer field, but at an unauthorized party.

On December 13th, Dierckx celebrated at home with 14 guests.

When the police arrived at the Belgian man's apartment in Antwerp at 4.30 a.m. after a noise complaint, the party was astonished.

The football professional admitted to having made a mistake, but the sudden insight did not save him from a sanction.

Lawyers asked for indulgence

Dierckx was sentenced to one month in prison and has to pay a fine of 800 euros.

Four other professionals who attended the party were fined between 400 and 600 euros.

In court, the players' lawyers asked for indulgence.

Football professionals are in a bubble with other players, coaches and employees, so that despite the pandemic, they no longer see the need to restrict their contacts.

In vain.

The lawyers did not follow the argument.

Before starting the prison sentence, Dierckx had to spend a day in the corona department of a hospital in Geel.
