Al Shafar wins the presidency of the Asian Cycling Federation with a "lottery"

The President of the Asian Cycling Federation, Osama Al Shafar, retained his position after winning the "lottery" during the elections held today, Monday, at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival, with the participation of 43 national federations in the continent within the Federation's General Assembly, and in the presence of David Labartin, President of the International Federation of Game.

Al-Shafar won the new election round from 2021 to 2025 after tying twice with his Malaysian rival, Amarji, with a score of 21-21, so that both candidates went to the lottery process, which was conducted by the "Emirati dirham", which smiled in the interest of Al-Shafar.

Al-Shafar said in a press statement: “I’m happy to win the position for the second time, and I thank the wise leadership that supports its sons in all fields,” adding: “Winning the position confirms that UAE youth are able to assume the largest continental and global positions and the next stage will be difficult because there are a number of important issues. On the Asian scene, foremost among which is supporting and developing the game and bringing it to the world, it needs a great effort and we are able to assume responsibility and we will raise the flag of the UAE. "

He explained, "I won the elections through a lottery using the Emirati dirham, which smiled in my favor, which means that God Almighty wants me to continue in the Asian Cycling Presidency."
