Ice dancing, couples dancing and singles skiing are on the schedule during the championship's six competition days.

The world's leading skiers are vying for the gold medals, while qualifying places for the Olympics in Beijing 2022 are at stake.

Taljegård makes its debut

Sweden is thus represented by Nikolaj Majorov and Josefin Taljegård, both singles skiers and World Cup debutants.

25-year-old Taljegård snagged the World Cup place in a hard fight with Matilda Algotsson and Anita Östlund, who also managed the qualifying points.

Majorov follows in his brother's footsteps

At the European Championships in Austria last year, the then only 19-year-old Nikolai Majorov came in 15th place, and got his international breakthrough.

Nikolaj is the reigning Swedish champion and is trained by his well-known big brother Alexander Majorov, who was Swedish figure skating's big poster name for many years.

The most recent world championship was decided in Japan in 2019, (since the 2020 World Cup in Canada was canceled due to the pandemic).

Then Anita Östlund missed the final and Alexander Majorov made his last international championship, where he finished in 18th place.

Chen chases the third gold

On the men's side, it will be a fierce duel between the reigning world champion Nathan Chen, USA, and the double Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu from Japan.

Chen is known for his many quadruple jumps and in search of his third straight World Cup gold.

On the women's side, the Russians are big favorites.

During the most recent major championship, EC 2020, Alena Kostornaia, Anna Scherbakova and Alexandra Trusova took a triple.
