Alexis Pinturault, in contention to win the general classification of the Alpine Skiing World Cup, had an excellent first round on the giant of the finals of Lenzerheide (Switzerland) on Saturday.
Starting with bib number 1, the Frenchman achieved (by far) the best time on the first track, pushing back the Austrian Stefan Brennsteiner to 81/100 and the Croatian Filip Zubcic to 1 second 04.
“The conditions are pretty good considering the snow has fallen, it's not very easy, it marks, the snow changes a bit.
For me it was a good first round, I also took advantage of my bib, the light comes and goes.
For me there is still a good second (round), I will try to stay in the same register, I don't really have any questions to ask myself given the circumstances, ”explained Pinturault.

His Swiss rival Marco Odermatt, who is behind him by 31 points overall and ahead of him by 25 points in the classification of the specialty, starting number 3, missed his round, he is only tenth at 1 sec 66.
