The overall leader in the long-distance cup Ski Classics, Emil Persson blew up the 20-man cluster with just over a kilometer to go.

The World Cup leader increased the pace and brought a handful of skiers into the riot.

But there no one could keep up with Persson who finished in the time 2.30.37, one second ahead of the Norwegian Andreas Nygaard.

Poromaa and Burman long after

National team skiers William Poromaa and Jens Burman - who last weekend ended the World Cup season in cross-country skiing - finished 25th and 26th, about 20 seconds behind Emil Persson.

With four races left, Emil Persson leads the cup with 1220 points, ahead of Norwegian Tord Asle Gjerdalen with 1110 points.

The next race in the cup will be decided tomorrow, also in Vålådalen.
