The classic club announces the news on its website.

"Peter's contribution to Leeds United will never be forgotten and his death leaves another big hole in the Leeds United family," the club wrote on its website.

Lorimer, who was born in Dundee, Scotland, made his Leeds debut in 1962 when he was only 15 years and 289 days old.

Something that still makes him the club's youngest debutant.

This was followed by a long and successful career.

He made 705 appearances for the club and put the ball in the net 238 times, making him the club's top scorer ever.

With Leeds, he won two league titles: 1969 and 1974. He also won the FA Cup in 1972 and the League Cup in 1968. He made 21 international appearances for Scotland.
