In the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the near future, two coaching changes may occur at once.

Viktor Goncharenko may leave CSKA and become the mentor of Krasnodar, where he will replace Murad Musaev.

At the same time, his post will be occupied by the former striker of the red-blue and the Croatian national team Ivica Olic.

There are many rumors surrounding Goncharenko's potential resignation.

However, after an unsuccessful resumption of the season and three defeats in the last four games, there is less and less doubt that his days at CSKA are numbered.

The last straw was the defeat of Zenit with a score of 2: 3 in the 23rd round of the RPL, which led to the fall of the army team to fifth place in the standings and reduced the chances of competing for the championship to the limit.

At the same time, CSKA has problems, presumably, not only on the field, but also within the team.

According to experts, the lack of success is due to the fact that Goncharenko cannot establish discipline, and the players, in turn, are not motivated to “fight” for a mentor.

The ambiguous decision to refuse the services of two assistants at once on the eve of the second half of the season - Viktor Onopko and Sergey Ovchinnikov - could have had a negative impact on the atmosphere within the team.

It is assumed that famous players in the past may not have been on the best terms with the head coach, which was the reason for their departure.

At the same time, the players themselves refute assumptions about disagreements with the mentor.

After the match with Zenit, midfielder Ilzat Akhmetov said that no one in the team liked the rumors about Goncharenko's resignation.

“We try not to be distracted by them, but, of course, we are ready to fight for the coach.

We hope that everything will be straightened out.

Only respect and gratitude to this person ”, - quotes Akhmetov“ Sport-Express ”.

Although some experts suggest that the Red and Blues will not change their coach seven rounds before the end of the season, the media reported that the retirement will take place on March 23rd.

Earlier it was reported that they would look for a replacement in the championships of France or Germany, and also that several people are being considered as candidates for the place of Goncharenko, including Vasily Berezutsky, who is a member of the coaching staff, and Aleksey Shpilevsky, a Belarusian head of Kazakhstan's Kairat.

However, the main candidate is Ivica Olic, well-known to Russian fans.

At the moment, the leadership of the red and blue is allegedly negotiating with the Croatian Football Union to terminate his current contract with the national team, where he holds the post of assistant coach.

Horvat spent only three years at CSKA (2003-2006), but was involved in one of the brightest periods in its history.

During this time, he helped the team win the Russian championship three times, take the Cup and the Super Cup of the country twice, and in the 2004/05 season - win the UEFA Cup.

In total, he spent 116 matches for the red and blue and scored 44 goals.

Almost immediately after the end of his career as a player in 2017, Olic entered the coaching staff of the Croatian national team and became an assistant to Zlatko Dalic, who led the team to the historic silver of the 2018 World Cup held in Russia.

Interestingly, a couple of years ago, Olic announced his readiness to help the former team, if such an offer was received.

He recalled that it was in Russia that he won some of the most important titles in his career, and expressed confidence that he would again be able to achieve success here.

The media report that the Croat wants to see one of his former teammates as an assistant - Elver Rahimic, who is currently the assistant coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, or Milos Krasic.

The latter came to Moscow before the 23rd round of the RPL and visited the office of the army.

According to "Championship", Olic and the club's management "are discussing the final details."

At the same time, the Metaratings.ru portal indicates that the contract has allegedly already been signed and will be valid until the summer of 2022.

But, despite Olic's authority in CSKA and his merits as a player, many experts were perplexed by his possible appointment.

First of all, due to the lack of experience as a head coach.

“The head coach is a completely different responsibility.

I would not dare to appoint Olic just because he played for CSKA in the past.

Krasic, Olic, Polich - all this is not serious.

If Ivica, for example, worked at Dynamo Zagreb and made it to the quarter of the Europa League, there are no questions.

We have our own coaches - Berezutskys and Ignashevich, ”- quotes the words of the ex-striker of the red and blue Valery Masalitin“ Championship ”.

The former striker of the Russian national team Dmitry Kirichenko partly agreed with his opinion.

He noted that CSKA is a team that always sets the highest goals for itself, so the club's management takes a risk, inviting an inexperienced specialist.

“Ivica has never worked as a head coach.

Therefore, it is difficult to imagine how he will turn out now in CSKA.

It is clear that the Croatian national team is a high level.

But the appointment of Olic is still a risk for CSKA.

The management, I think, also understands this, ”Kirichenko told the Playmaker portal.

In the event of a possible dismissal, Goncharenko will not have to sit out of work for a long time.

According to several Russian media reports, he will head Krasnodar next season.

It is noted that the owner of the club, Sergey Galitsky, highly appreciates the coaching qualities of a specialist and intends to invite him instead of Murad Musaev, who is also criticized not only for failed results, but also for the lack of experience in managing the wards in general.

According to former Dynamo mentor Sergei Silkin, the appointment of Goncharenko can really help Krasnodar correct the situation.

“This is a good specialist.

But we shouldn't forget our coaches either.

We have young guys with gaming experience who want to work.

Although Krasnodar needs an experienced coach.

I think that Goncharenko would be able to work successfully in this club, "- quotes Silkin" Soviet sport ".
