Mikaela Shiffrin still belongs to the absolute world elite, but this season has not gone as well as before as she has been plagued by back pain.

Among other things, she missed the premiere in Sölden because of that and with the Olympics in Beijing in less than a year, she may face more competitions next season.

- We will definitely take it into account next season.

Not only for the Olympics, but also for my career to be long.

The Olympics are a big goal, but an even bigger goal is to only be able to compete regularly, says Shiffrin at a digital press conference from the World Cup final in Lenzerheide.

The star says that today she needs more recovery than a few years ago.

- This season, it has taken a little longer to get my back and body in good condition for skiing.

Hopefully, this summer's preparations can allow me to complete the Olympics without having to adjust the schedule, but it may be required and that is something we have to take into account.

The World Cup final takes place in Lenzerheide, Switzerland and is broadcast on SVT.
