PSG still largely dominates the top 20 salaries in Ligue 1, the first 11 places being reserved for its players.

Only a few players from Monaco, Lyon and Marseille manage to interfere in the ranking.

Coaching side, it is still the Parisian coach, Mauricio Pochettino, who is the most handsomely paid.

Like every year, the salaries of Ligue 1 players were published on Friday, and PSG is once again talking about him.

The players of the Parisian club are the best paid in Ligue 1 with, in the lead, Neymar (3 million gross monthly) and Kylian Mbappé (2 million gross monthly).

Behind the PSG players are the Monegasques Wissam Ben Yedder and Cesc Fàbregas in 12th and 13th place.

The Parisian coach is also the best off

Coach side, with his 940,000 euros gross monthly, the Parisian coach Mauricio Pochettino is also the best off.

Much better than that of the Nîmes team, Pascal Plancque, who, with his 7,000 euros per month, finds himself at the very end of the ranking.

The ranking highlights the major gender inequalities.

Unsurprisingly, the gap between the remuneration of women playing in the first division and that of men is abysmal: they benefit from an average salary of 4,000 euros gross per month, ten times less than men.

Loss of resources related to Covid-19

Context matters.

Indeed, if the highest salaries have not budged, most clubs have nevertheless started a decline in the payroll and the average salary with the loss of resources linked to Covid-19.

Angers, for example, has asked its players to lower their salaries.

A drop visible everywhere, especially if the players are not essential stars.
