It is re-tested samples from 2011 and the WC in Daegu that have given results.

Nazarov's 37 - year - old test showed traces of the anabolic steroid turinabol, which was discovered just before the World Cup in Doha in September 2019. He has since been suspended and today's decision by the athletics integrity unit, IAU, confirms the verdict.

The suspension is backdated to 24 September 2019 and applies until 24 September 2021, which means that he will miss the Olympics, which begin at the end of July.

The results between 2011 and 2013 are deleted

Nazarov's result between August 29, 2011 and August 29, 2013 is now deleted, which means that he, among other things, loses tenth place at the World Cup in South Korea.

The results outside that period, however, Nazarov may retain.

In addition to the Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro 2016, there is also the World Cup silver 2015 in Beijing as the main merits.

In Rio, Nazarov won Tajikistan's first Olympic gold since becoming an independent Soviet state in 1991.
