Zinedine Zidane enjoyed the experienced players at Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The trainer saw his team win 3-1 against Atalanta in the eighth finals of the Champions League, after the team had already won the first game with 0-1 last week.

The experienced Sergio Ramos (34), Luka Modric (35) and Karim Benzema (33), among others, had a share in the second victory over Atalanta with a goal or assist.

Zidane was very pleased with their performance.

"They are not grandfathers yet. They always want to show how good they are. Of course, they are elderly, but seeing Modric play you wouldn't say he's 35 years old. The same goes for Sergio and Karim," said Zidane.

"Karim was really great again. He's only gotten better since playing at Real. And Sergio is a real leader. Not just now, but always. We are happy that he is still playing for us."

Ramos and Modric both have expiring contracts in Madrid and Ramos in particular would be dissatisfied that he has not yet had a new offer from Real.

The captain has been playing for the club since 2005.

Real competes in their own country with Atl├ętico Madrid and FC Barcelona for the title and continues that race on Saturday with an away match against Celta de Vigo.

The game starts at 4.15 p.m.
