In November, the journey began that led to Zlatan Ibrahimovic being selected in the national team yesterday after almost five years of absence.

This after Ibrahimovic several times directed very sharp criticism at, among others, the national team captain.

That criticism is now behind Janne Andersson.

- To receive criticism, I get that in this job daily.

It is the fact that many times when he has expressed it, it has blown up very much because it is he who said it.

I'm actually very good at dropping things and leaving it behind.

Can we find a way forward that is good for all parties then we will do it, says Janne Andersson and continues:

- It is also important that that process has taken place in the right way and it has done so.

We have had a good chat and found the right thing in those snacks and then I have no problem putting things behind me, then we drive forward.

Could find a way forward

It was a given for the league captain to meet the 39-year-old star this autumn.

- My job is to win as many matches as possible with the national team and there are players who are as good or better than the ones we have, which Zlatan is, and he opens up to be with again it was just as good to go down and see if we could find a way forward.

And we could.

"Maintains a very high level"

Neither Janne Andersson nor Ibrahimovic have revealed what the two talked about during their meetings.

But have you got any idea what it is that makes him want to come back now?

- I think he should answer that himself in detail.

But in general, it is probably the case that when he finished in 2016, he was finished with the national team and then the years go by.

Since then, it has turned out that he still maintains a very high level.

He is proud to be Swedish and to represent the Swedish national team.
