Youssoufa Moukoko will go hunting for goals for the German U21 national team at the European Football Championship.

National coach Stefan Kuntz called the miracle striker from Borussia Dortmund into his squad for the upcoming EM group stage.

A total of 23 players are in the line-up for the games against Hungary (March 24th) and the Netherlands three days later in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, and against Romania on March 30th in Budapest.

Moukoko would be the youngest player ever to appear for a German U21 national team.

In the away game at Hertha BSC this season, Moukoko had already set the record for the youngest Bundesliga player in history one day after his 16th birthday.

FC Bayern is not represented in the squad.

The youngsters of the record champions do not provide a player.

And even the most prominent player is not going to Hungary: Leverkusen's talent Florian Wirtz.

The 17-year-old had already earned a regular place at Bayer last season and was able to convince this season as well.

Apparently also at the DFB, which could now probably appoint the youngster for the senior national team.

The most important competition for U21 footballers was divided into two parts this year due to the corona pandemic.

The preliminary round of the tournament will take place in Hungary and Slovenia from March 24th to 31st, the knockout phase will follow from May 31st to June 6th.

The two best teams of the four groups of four qualify for the quarter-finals.

The DFB selection arrives as second in the European Championship in 2019, but is not one of the absolute top favorites despite first place in the qualification group.
