Former Japan national football team Keisuke Honda has decided to join Neftçi, a powerful player in the Azerbaijan 1st division league.

In February, 34-year-old Honda announced that he would join the Portuguese first division Portimonense from the Brazilian team, but he couldn't sign the contract because he couldn't register in time.

After that, Honda, who was looking for a new transfer destination, decided to join Neftçi in the Azerbaijan 1st division league and was announced on the team's official website on the 15th.

Neftçi is a strong team based in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and Honda, who had a press conference, said, "I am happy to join. I will do my best to win the championship."

Honda has participated in the World Cup as a representative of Japan for three consecutive tournaments, and is eager to participate in the overage frame at the Tokyo Olympics, which consists of members under the age of 24.
