A quicker arrival than expected.

The third international line Louis Picamoles, who has signed up with Union Bordeaux-Bègles for next season, should arrive in the next few days in Gironde with the status of medical joker.

Picamoles, 35, who was no longer in the plans of the MHR three months before the end of his contract, will bring his experience (82 caps and nearly 300 professional matches played with Montpellier, Toulouse and Northampton) to the team by Christophe Urios, who lost his 3rd row Marco Tauleigne until the end of the season.

Seriously injured in the ankle during the warm-up preceding the match against Pau, the Bordelais (27 years old) announced the end of his season.

“Season ended for me, following an operation on the ankle (syndesmosis),” explained the international (4 selections in 2018) on his Instagram account.

“Which also means that unfortunately I will not be able to wear the UBB jersey again before my departure.

I am very sad that it ends this way, ”added the one who signed with Montpellier next season.

A weight reinforcement for the end of the season

The third line of the UBB has been operating at a tight flow in recent weeks between the long injuries of Mamadou Diaby (Achilles tendon), Georgian Beka Gorgadze (knee) and therefore Marco Tauleigne, the release in February of Samoan Afa Amosa, who joined Bayonne, and the regular summons to the French team of Cameron Woki.

In Bordeaux, Louis Picamoles should find next season his former partner in Montpellier and in the French team, the opener of Racing 92 François Trinh Duc (34) who should soon sign up for a year with the Bordeaux club.
