The quartet with Andersson, Heidi Weng, Jessie Diggins and Julija Stupak pulled in early from the rest of the field and the distance increased down to the hunting group.

After 20 kilometers, the Swede was in a narrow lead before Weng, Stupak and Diggins.

Behind it was almost a minute and a half to Rosie Brennan and the other skiers.

With two kilometers left, Heidi Weng made a move and was eight seconds ahead of Andersson.

The Norwegian fell silent a bit in the final sprint and Andersson got weathered, but in the end it was a victory margin of 4.5 seconds.

Julija Stupak took third place, 33.7 seconds behind the victorious Weng.

With the result, Ebba Andersson finishes third in the overall world cup and thus writes history as the second Swedish woman through the ages to finish top three in the overall world cup.

Most recently was Marie-Helene Östlund (then Westin) who finished second in the 1987-1988 season.

It is worth noting in this context that the Norwegian riders have ridden very sparingly in the World Cup this corona season.

Therese Johaug is the leading Norwegian in ninth place.

It was Ebba Andersson's 25th podium place in her career and she also finishes second in the distance cup behind Jessie Diggins.
