The notice has launched on Twitter the public company

Veiasa (Verifications Industriales de Andalucía)

, but applies to

ITV

throughout the Spanish territory: beware the

MIL

, would assume that the vehicle does not pass inspection.

"For a vehicle registered from 2008 to have the

MIL

indicator

lit

is considered a serious defect and, therefore, it will not pass the ITV," Veiasa announced in a tweet.

"The reason, that it presents unsuitable conditions for the test."

What is the MIL token?

The MIL warning light is the one that warns of an engine failure.

Its acronym, in English, corresponds to "

Malfunction Indicator Light

" and it lights up in the instrument panel in the event of an abnormal operation or a minor breakdown, which in principle does not represent an imminent problem but can lead to more serious consequences.

For this reason, ITVs recommend going to the workshop for a check as soon as the light comes on.

"The MIL indicator goes off after the system check", Veiasa explains, "this check should only be carried out on vehicles registered as of 1/1/2008".
