In November 2020, word came that a Charlotte Kalla tested positive for covid-19.

She got a tough road to the World Cup and her place in the World Cup squad was threatened due to swaying results in the World Cup.

Kalla was selected and delivered great results immediately - fifth in the skiathlon and then sixth in the 10 km freestyle.

"There were a lot of thoughts"

But the World Cup ended with two really heavy results.

She had a very difficult relay distance and a few days ago she was forced to cancel the three miles.

- There were a lot of thoughts in my head then.

I also had the feeling that it was the right decision, and that made it go quite well to let it go and leave that race behind me and focus on what awaits this weekend, says Kalla to SVT Sport.

The experience in the World Cup is a new experience for you ...?

- Yes.

There are no problems I have had to deal with before.

If you look in the rearview mirror, it has been a battle against the clock since I recovered from covid.

There have been three very tough discharges, especially the relay distance.

In the end, the body said no.

Do you regret?

- It is very difficult to know how the body should react to maximum load.

It's not something I've experienced before, it was difficult to make a decision.
