HV71 lost the semifinal series against Brynäs with 3-0 in matches.

The 4-0 loss that decided the match series was played in Anna Borgqvist's old home arena in Gävle and became her last match in her career.

- Now I'm done.

I feel finished with hockey now, I can no longer have the strength either physically or mentally, Borgqvist says to JP.

28-year-old Borgqvist says that she will now move to Stockholm.

- It will be some form of Svensson life for the first time, we will see how it feels, she says.

Debuted in Växjö

- Hockey has always been my security, but at the same time it should be nice to avoid all the requirements that come with it.

I will certainly miss playing, but now I need some distance to it.

Then I hope I can come back in some form of coaching role in the future.

Anna Borgqvist made her debut in the National Series, current SDHL, in the 07/08 season with Växjö Lakers.

This was followed by three seasons in Leksand before she went to Brynäs where she stayed for seven seasons.

In 2018 she was back in Leksand but after only one season she went to HV71 where she had time for two seasons before she now chooses to end her career.

Borgqvist played in the women's crowns until 2018 and was part of the squad that came fourth at the Olympics in Sochi in 2014.
