The enmity between the supporters of the MHSC and Nîmes Olympique once again pushed the prefecture of Gard to publish a decree, in view of the derby between the two clubs, scheduled for Sunday (1 p.m.).

"In order to avoid any incident, the prefect issued an order restricting the freedom to come and go of MHSC supporters and ban on traffic and parking on public roads," notes the prefecture.

Anyone "availing himself of the quality of supporter" of Montpellier, "or behaving as such", will not have the right to be on the public highway, Sunday, between 6 am and midnight, on a perimeter including the streets from the city center, the motorway tolls and the Costières stadium area, where the meeting will take place.

MHSC flags and scarves prohibited

"To display a flag, a scarf, a sign or any other piece of clothing in the colors or symbols of the MHSC or to sing the anthems specific to this club, or to display a tarpaulin, part of a tarp or reproduction of a tarpaulin of the opposing club ", Are prohibited, continue the services of the prefecture.

In addition, firecrackers, smoke bombs, or "flags or streamers whose inscriptions call for provocation, violence or hatred" are prohibited.

Last weekend, already, MHSC supporters were banned from staying in Alès, where their team faced the local club, on the occasion of the round of 16 of the French Football Cup.

The authorities fear that supporters of Nîmes, not far from there, will take advantage of this meeting to come to Alès to attack their opponents from Montpellier.
