The 15-time major winner Woods is in hospital in Los Angeles, California, and is recovering from the serious single accident he had on February 23.

The 45-year-old was unconscious for a short time after the crash where he suffered several fractures in his right leg.

There has been little information about how rehab is going for Woods.

But colleague Rory McIlroy gives a bright insight into the condition.

- Hopefully he can return home in a week or so if everything goes well during the coming week, said the 31-year-old who during his career has been world number one for over two years in Jimmy Fallon's talk show on Tuesday.

"We on the tour have reached him"

McIlroy said Woods is in good spirits.

- I have talked to him a little grand, he is getting better and better.

"I think all of us on the PGA Tour have reached out to him," McIlroy said.

McIlroy had a heavy closing day in the "Arnold Palmer Invitational" on Bay Hill last Sunday, when he paid tribute to Woods by playing in a red shirt and black pants, and reached the clubhouse in 76 strokes and finished tenth.

Woods did not like what he saw and messed with McIllroy: "What's going on here?"

McIlroy appreciated that.

"Even from the hospital bed he manages to push me," said McIlroy, who was one of the players thanked by a moved Woods when he saw all the red jerseys out on the court on television.
