Thomas Bach's appointment as IOC Chair of the International Olympic Committee has been confirmed.



Chairman Bach reaffirmed his willingness to hold the Tokyo Olympics, which has been postponed for one year due to Corona 19, that it will surely be held this summer.



Chairman Bach succeeded in reappointing with 93 votes in favor, 1 vote against, and 4 abstentions by running alone for the next chairman's election at the 137th IOC general meeting held today (11th) with a morning burn.



Chairman Bach, who was elected as the IOC Chairman in 2013 for the Olympic Fencing Gold Medal List, will lead the IOC for four more years until 2025.



In his speech at the General Assembly, Chairman Bach emphasized once again his will to host the Tokyo Olympics, which was postponed for one year, saying that it is not a matter of whether or not it will be held.
