After victories in both training internationals against Austria and Malta, a real measure of value now awaits Sweden when the USA arrives at Friends Arena on 10 April.

The match is broadcast live on SVT2, starting at 19.00.

The away match against Poland, three days later, is also broadcast live on SVT.

Meeting the USA will be an important signal about where the Swedish team stands in the top competition, according to SVT's expert Markus Johannesson.

- In this match, Sweden's development is really put to the test and this will be a real test before the Olympics.

It will be exciting to see if Sweden has taken a step, as I feel they have done, and can be more ball-leading and play their game even against the best nations.

This will be a completely different level than meeting Austria, for example, says Markus Johannesson to SVT Sport.

"Feels motivating"

Federal captain Peter Gerhardsson has met the United States on two occasions, and lost both.

2-3 in a training international in Ohio in the autumn of 2019, and 0-2 in the World Cup group games the same year.

- It feels motivating to meet the world champions USA at Friends Arena and get a good opportunity to really test where we stand in April.

I now hope that we can show that we have taken further steps and that we can measure ourselves against this type of very best possible resistance, says Peter Gerhardsson.
