In a sunny Saalbach, Vincent Kriechmeyr went out as the fifth skier, and straight into first place.

However, it would not last that long, and after Marco Odermatt made a fantastic effort, it became clear that he was 81 hundredths faster than Krieschmeyr.

- He is so technically good, says SVT's expert Pernilla Wiberg.

Then Odermatt remained unthreatened.

Closest behind was Pinturault's compatriot Matthieu Bailet - 0.62 behind.

Alexis Pinturault went out first - when the sun was at its strongest.

He finished in a modest 15th place, 2.10 behind his main World Cup competitor who took in the total.

Monsén missed personal best

After Felix Monsén's strong start, he went into tenth place, which would have resulted in a personal best if the placement had stood.

But several skiers got in before Monsén, who finished in 18th place.

- In this difficult challenging super-G, Monsén gets a really good ride, says SVT's commentator Johan Ejeborg.

Olle Sundin did worse, he left already after the first intermission.
