Jens Burman had aimed for the five miles as his highlight during the World Cup in Oberstdorf.

He also made a real effort to try to keep up and fight for the medals into the finish.

Out on the last lap, Burman was in the absolute lead.

But a couple of kilometers before the finish, the medal dream died.

- The muscles locked there.

It was soup cod on the last hill, and I did not really have the strength.

I ran out of fuel, says Jens Burman to SVT Sport.

"Do the course of your life"

Sixth place in the finish is still his best performance at a championship in his career.

- It was a shame, you want more.

But I struggled and did exactly what I could.

I could not have done so much better.

But you dream of those medals.

But it's just taking new years when it's the Olympics, says Jens Burman.

Afterwards, he was still praised by SVT Sports expert Anders Blomquist.

- Jens Burman makes the best race of his life, says Anders Blomquist in SVT.

Behind Burman was teammate in Åsarna and World Cup debutant, William Poromaa, second best Swede in a 13th place.

- The last 20 kilometers I had a hug.

My body said no, and I had to take it easy.

But I am still very happy and proud that I continued the war and finished as 13th, says William Poromaa to SVT Sport.
