The fine form holds true for Vincent Krieschmayr, who took double gold medals at the World Cup in Cortina.

The Austrian was first out in the starting field and was also the fastest.

The closest hunt was Swiss Beat Feuz who got off to a bad start.

In the first half, he was 71 percent behind.

It turned out, however, for Feuz went 17 percent behind Kriechmayr, in second place.

The Swedish bark

There were three Swedes in the starting field, Olle Sundin, Felix Monsén and Erik Arvidsson.

First out was Monsén who went out strong and until the third intermediate time it looked bright for, but he then lost and finished in place 18, 1.80 after Kriechmayr.

Olle Sundin left.

Erik Arvidsson with start number 34 represented the USA and stood for a real bang.

He finished in a sensational eighth place, 1.30 behind Kriechmayr.
