It was on Tuesday that Storvreta's national team star Alexander Rudd was prosecuted at Uppsala District Court for drug offenses.

On Thursday, the club announced that Rudd will take a timeout after talks on Wednesday - and there will probably be no more games this season.

- I think it will be difficult.

We are entering a stage now with the playoffs and need to play the formations together.

All parties probably feel that we need respite to be able to handle it, says Henrik Ededahl.

- The decision to take a break was common, and it feels good to us that it is not just a decision that we as an association make, he continues.

Alexander Rudd has one year left on his contract with Storvreta, but his future will be discussed when they fall into the goal.

The 28-year-old has played for Storvreta since 2014.

- We have not had any discussions about breaking the contract.

As long as we do not have a verdict, we have not done so.

We are awaiting the consequences of the verdict, and I think it will go pretty fast.

And based on the decision, we will make a decision about it, says Henrik Ededahl.

"Takes our employer responsibility"

Storvreta announced on Thursday that they will "support the man Alexander in the tough time he is now going through".

Henrik Ededahl develops it like this:

- We continue with the work that we have been doing for several years, and which we do with all players who need help.

And we continue to do so, with Alexander.

Exactly how we do will stay with us.

But it is about us taking our employer responsibility, he says.

Storvreta informed the rest of the squad on Tuesday, before the away match against Växjö, about the situation that has arisen.

- Players and leaders in the squad have discussed it internally.

The reaction there is also that they think it's nice that the decision to take a break has been made.

Many are close friends privately with Alexander and find it difficult, and are worried about Alexander.

Then we talked extra with some who know him well, to find the right form to support and help him, says Henrik Ededahl.

"Convicted of drunk driving"

There have been many headlines after it was discovered on Tuesday that the club's national team star is being prosecuted for drug crimes.

Alexander Rudd has previously also been convicted of drunk driving in 2017.

- He has told us that he is innocent, and has it been proven to the contrary.

Then it is very unfortunate that the association should be involved in these contexts.

Just about everything about drugs, it must not happen.

Then you should bring with you that he is charged with events that are two years old.

Which I do not think has come out in the media.

We are not really there now with Alexander as a person.

Now he works very well in the squad.

Then it is enormously sad that this appeared, says Henrik Ededahl.

Have Storvreta's partners made any demands in this?

- No, and I think more that demands are made that we act in the right way.

It is important not to forget the person, but for that reason not to let it go over the association.

But we should not judge anyone before they are convicted, says Henrik Ededahl.

How is Alexander Rudd feeling right now?

- It is clear that this is not fun in any way.

He is saddened and thinks it is very sad that he is not allowed to play floorball.

Then he is worried about the decision to come.

It is, after all, an indictment he has against him, says Henrik Ededahl.

Alexander Rudd denies wrongdoing according to the lawsuit.

SVT Sport has sought Alexander Rudd for a comment, so far without success.
