After saving Djurgården for the second season in a row in the football Allsvenskan, national team midfielder Olivia Schough left Stockholmsklubben last winter.

The 29-year-old instead signed for the gold favorite Rosengård - the only remaining Swedish team in the Champions League.

For Schough, it will thus be a CL game for the first time in four years.

The Champions League has been successful for Olivia Schough earlier in her career.

In a total of seven matches in the tournament (for Kopparbergs / Gothenburg and Eskilstuna) she has accounted for five hits.

"It's going to be so damn fun"

- I have to thank you for reminding me.

Now that you say that, I remember it very clearly.

It's been a while since I played in the Champions League, and it's probably every player's dream to play it, she says and continues:

- It will be so damn fun to make a comeback in the Champions League and I will do everything I can to contribute to the win for my team.

The opposition is the Austrian St. Pölten, who after qualifying for the tournament beat Swiss Zurich by a total of 3-0 in the round of 16.

Olivia Schough has great respect for the opposition, even though she admits that she has such a good grasp of it.

- Had we got Atlético Madrid, it's clear - then you know immediately what they are going for.

Then maybe you think that St. Pölten will be easy just because you do not have such good control.

When we have seen clips, I do not think it is a great draw, but it looks good.

Hoping for a bigger challenge

She expects that this double meeting will not be like the 16th part against Lantjchuti in December, where Rosengård followed up 7-0 away with a double-digit lead (10-0) in the return in Skåne.

- It is of course fun if it gets tough so that it will not be like the match Rosengård had before I came here.

Earlier this week, the European Football Association, Uefa, announced that the women's Champions League will apply the same rules as the men's ditto.

This means that only three players who have been recruited during the winter window may be taken out of the CL squad.

Players who have been loaned to the clubs' B-teams are also not allowed to play in the European game.

- It's just accepting the situation, no matter how boring it is.

I suffer with the players who are not allowed to participate, it's sad as the phase, says Olivia Schough.

Rosengård starts at home tonight.

The return will be played in Austria next Wednesday.
