This should not pacify relations within French rugby, turned upside down by the bursting of the pseudo-sanitary bubble around the Blues.

Even if the VI Nations Tournament takes a break this weekend, the four internationals from the Stade Toulousain affected by the Covid-19 in the selection will not be able to play on Saturday during the 18th day of the Top 14. The leader of the championship will therefore receive Brive without Antoine Dupont, Julien Marchand, Cyril Baille and Peato Mauvaka.

Still in solitary confinement, these four executives will undergo a new screening test on Wednesday.

Even in the event of a negative result and agreement to this effect with the French Rugby Federation (FFR), Toulouse will not be able to align them against the CAB since the medical protocol also requires, for infected players, serological tests, cardiological examinations and controlled resumption of training.

The FFR and the Top 14 clubs are currently looking for a compromise to stall the match of the VI Nations Tournament between France and Scotland, initially scheduled for last Saturday and postponed due to the source of contamination that appeared among the Blues .

Among the options considered: a new program at the end of March, outside the international window initially planned for the Tournament, in exchange for the possibility for the clubs to have their internationals for this 18th day of the championship.

Anger in Toulon

However, according to the situation in Toulouse, the twelve Blues recently affected by the Covid will not have the medical green light to play this weekend, as the president of Toulon Bernard Lemaître was moved on Monday.

“We seem to be saying that if the France - Scotland match is postponed at the end of March, we will release the internationals this weekend, except that those who are contaminated cannot play.

So this is false good news.

It is bogus and they know it very well, whether in the Federation or the League, ”denounced the Var leader, including three players - Charles Ollivon, Romain Taofifenua and Gabin Villière - contracted the disease during their stay with the XV of France.

The internationals not contaminated but considered as contact cases could on the other hand potentially be aligned this weekend by their clubs if they are tested negative.

This is the case in Toulouse of back Thomas Ramos and third row Selevasio Tolofua.

The right pillar Dorian Aldegheri, who was also called in for the Blues in reinforcement, had not mingled with any of his teammates and is therefore not considered as a contact case.
