Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to be sidelined for three weeks due to the upper leg injury he sustained on Sunday.

The AC Milan striker therefore misses the confrontation with Manchester United in the eighth finals of the Europa League.

Ibrahimovic went to the side in the game against AS Roma (1-2 victory) on Sunday ten minutes after the break.

According to

La Gazzetta dello Sport

, the recovery will be examined in ten days, but it is already expected that the 39-year-old striker has been eliminated for at least three weeks.

In that case, Ibrahimovic will miss the league matches with Udinese, Hellas Verona and Napoli and both games against his former club Manchester United.

It is the fourth time this season that the routine cannot play for physical reasons.

Ibrahimovic previously suffered injuries to his hamstring and calf and became infected with the corona virus.

In the fourteen league matches he did play, Ibrahimovic was of great value with fourteen hits.

As a result, Milan still has a view of the first national title since 2011. The gap on leader Internazionale is four points.

Much-discussed performance in San Remo continues

Despite his injury, Ibrahimovic will perform at the Sanremo Music Festival this week.

Milan allowed the attacker to skip some training sessions to present and sing at that festival.

Ibrahimovic would fly up and down with a helicopter for the matches against Udinese and Verona, but his injury now allows him to stay in San Remo.
