Calle Halfvarsson has had a difficult season.

After a long period of illness last autumn, he never managed to find the form and he broke both the Tour de Ski and now the World Cup.

- It is an incredibly bad season.

I have not felt really fit once in the whole season, says Halfvarsson to Expressen.

"I'm getting a little too kind"

He says he needs to take more responsibility.

- I have good people around me, there is nothing wrong with my coaches.

But somewhere I think I myself get a little too kind in many situations.

I just do what the coaches want.

I think they know my body better than I do, and I just run with my head under my arm.

He points out what may be needed in his future career.

- I probably needed someone who is damn good at slowing me down.

Who sees what is going on even before it starts to go too far.

"Do not want to end like this"

But despite the fact that the 31-year-old has been extremely reluctant lately, the aim is still set for a further investment in the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

- It will be the revenge.

Then we will see, says Calle Halfvarsson to the newspaper.

- But sometimes I can think;

Damn, why do I not just give up?

But as long as I believe in it, I want to fight on.

I do not want to end like this.

Not with these results.
