The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Monday overturned the "unlimited" suspension imposed on Iran by the International Judo Federation (IJF) in October 2019, for forcing one of its judokas to avoid facing an opponent Israeli.

The sports court considers that the Iranian federation has indeed "committed serious violations" of the rules of the IJF and must be sanctioned, but not with an indefinite suspension, which has "no legal basis" in the regulation of the International Federation.
