The XV of France will rise to third place in the world rankings on Monday, a first for ten years, thanks to England's defeat against Wales on Saturday in the Six Nations Tournament, according to the scenarios presented by World Rugby.

Promoted without playing

The Blues will find the Top 3 without even having played since their duel against Scotland, initially scheduled for Sunday at the Stade de France, was postponed after sixteen Covid-19 contaminations in their ranks.

On the podium, the XV of France will be behind South Africa, first and winner of the 2019 World Cup, and New Zealand, second.

By losing in Cardiff (40-24), England will drop by one place, from 3rd to 4th position, the rank previously occupied by France.

The Welsh will for their part gain two places to move from seventh to fifth after having signed, Saturday against the English, a third victory in three matches in this edition of the Tournament.
